A high official team of SDC and Embassy of Switzerland, Bangladesh visited Life Skills Education (LSE) session with the student of CEVEC project (Round-2) at Surutia Senior Madrasah, Bangla Bazar, Cox’s Bazar on 20 December 2021. The delegates were Ms. Patricia Danzi, Director-General of SDC; Mr. Rémy Duiven, Deputy Head of Asia Division, SDC; Ms. Nathalie Chuard – Ambassador, Embassy of Switzerland in Bangladesh; Ms. Suzanne Mueller – Deputy Head of Mission, Embassy of Switzerland in Bangladesh; Ms. Yasmein Sabina Lubna – Programme Manager, Embassy of Switzerland in Bangladesh.
YPSA CEVEC Consortium has been implementing a project named ‘Community Engagement in Countering Violent Extremism in Chattogram Division’ with the support of GCERF. During the visit, delegates observed the Life Skills Education Session with the students. They observed the LSE session with students on PVE (Preventing Violent Extremism) related issues and enjoyed the interactive discussion. Students shared their opinions and expressed their involvement in this regard.
After observing the Life Skills Education Session, the delegates met with the Teachers and Management Committee of Surutia Senior Madrasah. The delegates discussed the role and thought on the PVE of the teachers and management committee of Madrasah. The teacher & Management Committee of Surutia Senior Madrasah participated in lively discussions.
The visiting team highly praised the intervention of the YPSA CEVEC consortium, and they were very happy to interact with the Students, Teachers, and Management Committee of Surutia Senior Madrasah. They were impressed with the spontaneous response and inquisitiveness of students on the PVE issue.
