YPSA, in collaboration with BSRM, conducted extensive relief operations for flood victims in Sylhet on July 16 and 17, 2024. As part of the relief efforts, food and essential items were distributed among the flood-affected people at the shelter centers set up at Daskgaon Naoagaon High School and College in Nandigram Union, Goainighat Upazila, Sylhet District.
The relief distribution program was attended by Mr. Kamrul Hasan Amirul, Chairman of Nandigram Union Parishad, Mr. Niaz Morshed, In-charge of BSRM Sylhet Region, Mr. Md. Nazmul Haider, Head of YPSA Dhaka Office, and Mr. M.A. Matin, President of Goainighat Upazila Press Club. The speakers assured the affected people that YPSA and BSRM would continue to stand by them in all future disasters.
Relief items were also extensively distributed among the severely flood-affected fishing community in the remote Naowai Dakshinbag Kamalganj area of Golapganj Upazila, Sylhet District. This included families with disabilities and women-headed families without any earning members.
YPSA is implementing various development programs in the Greater Sylhet region with the support of the government and international organizations. The organization is also regularly distributing emergency relief items to the victims of natural disasters.
