YPSA Flood Response project Inauguration at Feni Sadar Upazilla

Speech by chief guest in the meeting

YPSA Flood Response Project has commenced its activities in the Eastern Region, specifically in Feni Sadar Upazila. YPSA is executing a project titled “Supporting Post-Flood-Affected Communities of Noakhali, Feni, and Cumilla Districts of Bangladesh” in collaboration with NEAR (Network for Emergency Aid Response). This initiative focuses on the Fazilpur and Kalidaha Unions within Feni Sadar Upazila.

An inception meeting was held on October 8, 2024, in the conference room of Feni Sadar Upazila, where Md. Nazmul Hasan, the Upazila UNO, served as the chief guest and a key stakeholder at both the Upazila and Union levels.

Meeting

The project aims to provide various forms of support, including the repair of severely damaged houses, the installation of new community tube wells, the construction of platforms and bathing spaces, the installation of new household toilets, cash for work (CFW) initiatives to assist in household repairs, and the rebuilding of roads and community areas. The project is scheduled to run from September 15 to December 31, 2024, to reach approximately 3,000 individuals affected by the floods. The lead organization for this project is DUS (Dwip Unnayan Songstha)
