Chittagong City Corporation allocated 20 million taka for smoke free program

Mr. A. Z. M Nasir, Mayor of Chittagong City Corporation declared budget of City Corporation for the fiscal year of 2016-2017 on 9 October . For the implementation of the smoke free program, Chittagong City Corporation allocated 2 crore taka (20 million taka). As a result of YPSA’s advocacy, Chittagong City corporation started to allocate budget for smoke free program from the fiscal year 2014-2015 and that year CCC allocated 20 lacks taka (2 million), in 2015-2016 fiscal year CCC allocated 1 crore taka (10 Million).  

In this fiscal year 2016-2017, 11 local governments allocated a total of 2,13,50,000 taka (2 crores thirteen lacks fifty thousand taka).

In the year of 2014-2015, 10 local governments of Chittagong division allocated a total of 31 lacs 20 thousand taka for implementing Smoke free Guideline and TC program and in the fiscal year of 2015-2016, 10 local governments allocated 1,16, 35, 000 taka (one crore sixteen lacks thirty five thousand taka) which was BDT 85,15,000 (Eighty five lacs fifteen thousand taka)  more than the previous year. And this year, the total allocation of budget of 11 local governments is 2, 13,50,000 taka (2 crores thirteen lacks fifty thousand taka) which is  97,15,000 taka more than the previous year.
