“The time is now for women: they are now driving force of development – urban and rural living condition being changed” focusing the topic, YPSA’s Development Resource Center (DRC) with the support of YPSA’s Lifeboat project arranged a discussion meeting, prize giving ceremony of sports competition and cultural program and a campaign “Press For Progress” to mark the International Women’s Day 2018.    

Shamsunnahar Chowdhury Lopa, member of the general council of YPSA, presided over the meeting while Chandrika Chowdhury Shima, member of the General Assembly of YPSA was present as a guest on this occasion.

Sadia Tazin, Program Officer, DRC presented the keynote paper, Md. Ali Shahin Project manager, lifeboat project, gave welcome speech and Md. Arifur Rahman, Chief Executive of YPSA gave concluding speech in the meeting.

Md. Mahbubur Rahman, Director (Social Development); Mohammad Manzur Murshed Chowdhury Director (Economic Development) discussed the keynote paper.  Mr. Roksana BegumManager, (Finance); Amena Begum; Farhana Idris; Abdullah Al Shakir;  Runa Mandal; Golda Akhter; Nazma Akter; Nasima Akter and Rima Akter spoke among others. Shyamsree Das, Program Coordinator of Epilap Project, moderated the program.

In the meeting, the speakers emphasized the achievements of urban and rural women which should be dignified without any discrimination in all cases including national, ethnic, linguistic, cultural, economic or political inequalities.
