YPSA observed International Youth Day 2013 with a group of vibrant youth discussing on the theme of this year “Youth migration: Moving Development Forward” at Mirsharai.
Young people share their views on this theme. In Bangladesh, large number of young people migrated to other countries and greatly contributing to our national economy by sending foreign currency. Considering the current socio- economic situation many young people want to go abroad for better education and career opportunities.
Some of them also expressed that, migration is a slow process and it actually helps us to enhance our capacity in terms of knowledge and better livelihood options. On the other hand they also highlighted the issues of illegal migration of many Bangladeshi people. Some of the initiatives help the local young people to aware about the illegal migrations, eventually saved their future.
Concluding the session they everyone aggress that, young people of our country are our resources. Bangladesh can be benefitted through migration if necessary steps are taken by different government and non government organizations and come forward to provide young people with various skill development trainings and ease the facilitation process for migration abroad.
