YPSA’s General Member Ms. Shamsun Nahar Chowdhury (Lopa) from Janardanpur village of Mirsharai Upazila of Chittagong earned PhD degree. She obtained this degree from the Department of Public Administration under the Faculty of Social Sciences of Chittagong University. His research topic was “Policy Advocacy Strategies of the NGOs for the Prevention of STD AIDS in Chittagong: A Case Study”. She conducted this long research under the supervision of Dr. Md. Shairul Mashreque, Professor of Public Administration, Department of Chittagong University.
Her degree of Doctor of Philosophy was approved by the 509th syndicate meeting of Chittagong University on 10 June, 2017. She is the daughter of prominent Trade Union leader and progressive politician Comrade Ahsan Ullah Chowdhury, one of the organizers of the great liberation war. She is wife of Md. Arifur Rahman, Chief Executive of YPSA. Ms. Shamsun Nahar Chowdhury (Lopa) is involved in various social development and social welfare organizations and woman development activities. She is currently engaged in various academic and non-academic research activities.
