YPSA celebrated “International Day of Older Persons’2019” at the Age Friendly Space (AFS-05), Camp-13 (D4), Burmapara, Tasnimarkhola, Thaingkhali, Ukhiya, Cox’s Bazar on 01 October with the technical support of HelpAge International, Bangladesh. The theme of the day is “The Journey to Age Equality”. The events of this day were game competition, IGA inauguration, discussion meeting, prize distribution and cultural program.The objective of the day was to aware the society and policy makers to be age friendly and the older people to make them active forgetting their numerical age. We should ensure age equality in every stage respecting our seniors, giving them proper physical, mental, social and spiritual support in their every life.
Md. Enayet Mowla, Finance Manager, YPSA; Mohammed Shahidull Islam, Head of YPSA Rohingya Response Program & Assistant Director, YPSA and Md. Jahangir Alam, Humanitarian Response Manager, HelpAge International, Bangladesh were joined very actively in the discussion. Rohinghya older men and women were also expressed their feelings in the open discussion.
