YPSA organized Religious Leaders Orientation at Cox’sBazar

Religious leaders orientation took place on 24 August 2020 at Islamic foundation conference hall, Cox’s Bazar office. This orientation organized by YPSA under ‘Community Engagement in Countering Violent Extremism in Chattogram Division’ project with the support of GCERF & YPSA CEVEC Consortium. Fahmida Begum, Deputy Director, Islamic foundation Cox’s Bazar was present as Chief guest & Mohammad Sarwar Akbar, Assistant Director, Islamic Foundation, Cox’s Bazar was present as Special Guest.  Religious leaders from Muslim, Hindu, Buddist & Christan were participated in this orientation program.

Ms. Khaleda Begum, Deputy Director, YPSA & Team Leader of YPSA CEVEC Consortium has described various part of sessions in that orientation, Mr. Mohammad Shahidul Islam, Assistant Director, YPSA &Focal person of YPSA CEVEC SR1 delivered his welcome speech & Mohammad Harun, Program Manager, YPSA, has conducted the orientation session.

Chief guest Fahmida Begum, Deputy Director, Islamic foundation Cox’s Bazar said, ‘this orientation is very much essential & well timed for religious leaders. I am conveying thanks to YPSA to organized such kind of orientation with religious leaders’. She recommended to take more activities on PVE for religious leaders at micro level. She assured to extend her all kind of support to YPSA for implementing activities on PVE among religious leaders.

During the open discussion session religious leaders has presented their views & they have given their word that they ensure their involvement to deliver massages on preventing violent extremism in their religious & social program.

Mr. Nazmul Barat Rony, Program Coordinator (Training & Campaign), YPSA CEVEC Consortium, Mr, Abidur Rahman, Upazilla Manager, Jitu Barua & Shaila Mostafa from YPSA were present among others.
