For the preparedness to deal with the second wave of the COVID-19 pandemic, YPSA organized a meeting with the Ward Disaster Management Committee at the 8 no Shulokbahor Ward Office of the Chattagram City Corporation on 24, December.
Mr. Morshed Alam, Chairman of Ward Disaster Management Committee and former Councilor of Ward No. 8 was present as special guest in the meeting chaired by Tofail Ahmed, Ward Secretary, and Sanjida Akhter, Project Coordinator, YPSA Prayash-II Project. Also Jasmine Parveen Jesse, former female councilor of wards 7, 8 and 19, senior station master Mohammad Enamul Haque and SM Iftekharul Islam, organizing secretary of Chittagong Journalists Union were present at the meeting.
The meeting discussed what preparations need to be made to deal with the second wave of the COVID-19 pandemic and called for the joint support and sincere participation of all in tackling the national disaster.
Prominent politician Wahidul Alam Sumon announced the distribution of 10,000 masks on his own initiative. Finally, SM Iftekharul Islam, Organizing Secretary of Chittagong Journalists Union, thanked YPSA and Save the Children for their support in forming the Ward Disaster Management Committee and for providing an opportunity for eminent social workers to exchange views.
