Preventing Violent Extremism, GBV & Response COVID-19 Idea awarded in Youth Social Hackathon -2022

YPSA CEVEC Consortium funded by GCERF organized a Youth Social Hackathon- 2022 to know youth ideas and initiatives on Preventing Violent Extremism , Gender Based Violence & Response COVID-19 effects. As well as social hackathon, an event dedicated to Idea generation .

There are 107 Applicants submitted their ideas and initiatives on PVE, GBV & C-19 at community Level. Aftermath, jury scrutinizes the applications and creates a short list of best 30 applicants. This selection process was transparent and impartial.

Finally, YPSA called these applicants to present their ideas and initiatives in front of the jury board at YPSA HRDC Cox’s Bazar. On 25 January 22, the young social actvists presented their ideas and among them & 20 ideas are awarded as winners by jury . 4 Jury members of Youth Social Hackathon are Mr. Mohammed Shahjahan, Focal person of YPSA CEVEC Consortium, Ms. Khaleda Begum, Team Leader of YPSA CEVEC Consortium, Mr. Nazmul Barat Rony, Program Coordinator (Training & Campaign) YPSA CEVEC Consortium & Md. Abdus Sabur, Focal person, Youth, YPSA. YPSA CEVEC Consortium will fund for implemenattaion these 20 ideas at community level.

As a youth-friendly organization, YPSA believes that youth have a huge role to play in GBV, PBV and Covid-19 issues. Among notable ideas, presented by the youths in the Social hackathon-22 are Courtyard exhibitions on prevention of violence against women, youth parliament in debates, street drama (PATH NATAK), social solidarity in tournaments, Media Chat, We for change, debate contests, Inter- faith cultural contests, Stop child marriage. Celebrating Inter-faith Cultural Week, Sports Week, Wall Writing & Drawing Competition, Song Festival, Drama Staging, Photo Exhibition, Mass Music, Couple Gathering, Mobile Library Establishment & Quiz Competition etc.

The Youth Social Hackathon-2022 program is anchored by Md. Abu Taher, M&E Officer, YPSA CEVEC Consortium. Mr. Bana Ratna Tanchangya, M&E Officer, Mr. Sahab Uddin & Mr. Abdul Kaiyum, Field officers of YPSA CEVEC Consortium & Mr. Md. Harun, Project Manager of YPSA SR-1, Mohammed Rashel, Project Manager, YPSA-NONGOR CEVEC Project, NONGOR (SR-2), Md. Sadekul Islam, Project Manager, HELP Cox’s Bazar (SR-3) moderated the Event.
