16 Days of Activism Against Gender-Based Violence is an international campaign to challenge violence against women and girls. From 25 November – 10 December, the 16 Days of Activism for No Violence against Women and Children Campaign (16 Days Campaign) is a United Nations campaign which takes place annually from 25 November (International Day of No Violence against Women) to 10 December (International Human Rights Day).
YPSA has organized the inauguration of the campaign on Novermber 25, 2021 at Chottogram DC office. This year’s theme is ‘’Orange The World: End Violence Against Woman!”. Madhabi Barua , Deputy Director of Women Affairs Office moderated the program.
Divisional Manager Farhana Idris of Combating Early Marriage in Bangladesh project presented objectives and theme of 16 days activism, meaning of the orange color through multimedia projector. The campaign inaugurated by Mr. Galib Chowdhury, Assistant Commissioner on behalf of Deputy Commissioner, Chattogram. Civil surgeon Dr Md Elias Chowdhury, DD of District Information Office Chattogram Md Sayeed Hasan, DD of DYD Mr. Projesh Kumar Shah, Divisional Manager Farhana Idris of Combating Early Marriage project, District Coordinator of Combating Early Marriage project Omar Shahed Hiru, Programming pool member of Combating Early Marriage project Rubiat Bintay Helal , Members of GO, NGO, CSO , NCTF and Nari Nirjaton Protirodh committee representative and CMPC Members of Chattogram District were present.

The campaign will be celebrated through various programs till the 10th December 2021. Ms Madhabi Barua of DD women affairs office told that the campaign will be celebrated through various activities to raise awareness.
