YPSA has been implementing a project titled “Multi sector recovery and empowerment support for crises affected communities in Cox’s Bazar Activity” since 2020. The project is technical supported by International Rescue Committee (IRC) and funded by USAID’s Bureau for Humanitarian Assistance (BHA)
Job Title: Community Facilitator (Child Protection)
Reportable to: Project Officer (Child Protection)
Current Project Agreement Period: September 2024 to June 2027
Contract Duration: Up to August 2025 (Possibility to Extend)

Position Overview: The Community Facilitator (Child protection) is responsible for monitoring and assessing child protection situations within the community. This role involves collecting information quantitative and qualitative data from primary and secondary sources, gathering data from local newspapers and media, and compiling monthly reports on the child protection context. The facilitator must possess strong computer skills and be adept at data analysis.
Key responsibilities:
Situation Monitoring: Continuously monitor and assess the child protection situation in the assigned project areas.
Data Collection: Collect information from various primary sources (e.g., FGD, KII, survey, surveys) and secondary sources (e.g., reports, publications, newspaper).
Media Monitoring: Regularly review local newspapers and media outlets for child protection-related news and updates.
Reporting: Prepare and submit monthly reports on the child protection context, including trends, issues, and recommendations.
Data Analysis: Analyse collected data to identify patterns and areas of concern.
Collaboration: Work closely with community members, local authorities, and other stakeholders to gather accurate and comprehensive information.
Work with Child Protection team and collect child protection concerns and risks.
Competencies
- Knowledge of verbal and written Chittagonian is mandatory.
- Primary and Secondary Data collection, validation and storing, data editing and reporting skills.
- Proficient in computer applications (e.g. MS Office, Excel and MSWORD).
- Strong organizational and time-management abilities.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, including the ability to communicate effectively with diverse audiences.
- Empathy, cultural sensitivity, and the ability to build trust and rapport with community members.
- Problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Commitment to community empowerment, social justice, and sustainable development.
- Knowledge of child protection laws and regulations.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Bachelor of Arts (BA) in Social Science, Development Studies, or any relevant field.
- Preference will be given to applicants with prior experience in the relevant field.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in child protection or related field.

Monthly Consolidated Stipend: 20,000 BDT (Included all facilities)
Note: The amount paid will be considered as a stipend for working as a volunteer.
