YPSA (Young Power in Social Action) <www.ypsa.org> is an organization for sustainable development working in greater Chittagong division including Chittagong Hill Tracts (CHT) since 1985 (International Youth Year). YPSA is going to implement a project at Chakaria Upazila under Cox’s Bazar titled “Health, protection, and cash assistance for refugees and host communities in Cox’s Bazar”. The project is supported by International Rescue Committee (IRC)
Job Title: Community Mobilizer (Prevention)
Duration: July 2021 to March, 2023 (Possibility for extension)
No. of vacancy: 35 (Female-20 and Male-15)
Highlights of Key Responsibilities
- Work with women and girls in the WGSS to identify their needs, interests and priorities, and where possible, adapt activities according to these to ensure activities offered are culturally appropriate and meet their needs
- Conduct, prepare, and help plan and organize activities with women and adolescent girl’s groups
- Provide Psychosocial First Aid and Psycho Support Service (PSS)
- Assist with dignity kit distributions and appropriate messaging and feedback from adolescent girls on dignity kits and other discretionary items provided
- Adhere to and promote GBV guiding principles.
- Know and understand the GBV referral pathway
- Share with the women and girls, what options for care are available, including what services can be provided and what services cannot
Educational Qualifications:
- Minimum Bachelor’s degree in any subject, and /or professional experience in counselling
Experience Requirement:

Competencies: Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
- Personal qualities: Works well in and promotes teamwork, comfortable in a multi-cultural environment, flexible and able to handle pressure well
- Strong communication and facilitation skills
- Ability to keep records and write simple and basic reports of activities would be an added advantage
- Excellent listening and observation skills, including ability to build trust, support, respect and interact with survivors of all ages, background and diversity
- Demonstrated dedication towards women’s empowerment and protection through Women’s group, Girls clubs or other relevant experience
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and respect in WGSS at all times is essential
Language Preference:
- Language spoken by population in need – essential
- Chittagongian / Rohingya dialect – preferable, not essential
Monthly consolidated Salary: BDT: 18000
