Orientation workshop on Role of institutional policy in strengthening Smoking and Tobacco Control Act 2005″ held in Feni on 15th December’09 with the support from CFTFK and BI. Councilors of Feni Municipality and representatives from Journalist, market authority, government, teacher, religious leader, NGO and Civil society have participated in the workshop. Dr. Golam Kibria, Civil Surgeon, Feni district was presented as a chief guest, Mr. Mahbubur Rahman, District information officer and Mr. Abu Taher, President, Feni Press club were presented as special guests. The workshop was presided by Mr. Mahbubur Rahman, Director, (Field operation), YPSA. In the workshop, harms of second hand smoking, importance, role and development process of institutional policy and role of Coalition have been discussed and Ms. Nasim Banu, Team Leader, YPSA has delivered a slide presentation on these topics. Participants have provided important comments and suggestions on which initiatives they will take for protecting people from harms of secondhand smoking. Feni Human Development Foundation has provided support to organize the workshop.
