Capacity Building workshop held

YPSA organized  capacity building workshop from 29th to 31st January 2010 in YPSA HRDC, Chittagong Campus with the assistance of CFTFK and BI. The workshop was mainly focused on Smoke free issues. Objectives of the workshop were to build the capacity of YPSA team for building partner capacities, address gaps in tobacco control policy information, sharpen skills for effective communication and delivery and elaborate project implementation plan.

The major topics of the workshop were Smoke free law, Tobacco Advertise, promotion and sponsorship, Tobacco packaging, Tobacco taxation, Tactics of tobacco industry, Challanges and gaps of smoke free environment, smoke free project plan, status, challanges, implementation & enforcement of Smokefree Policies and advocacy. Different participatory methods have been used in the workshop. Through the workshop, some future directions, strategies to overcome the existing challanges and gaps have been identified. Ms. Shobha John, Smoke free expert from India has facilitited the 3 days workshop and the smoke free project team members were participated in the workshop.
