YPSA celebrated International youth day along with other International and national development partners. The theme of this year’s Day is ‘Building a Better World: Partnering with Youth,’ aimed at developing and engaging in partnerships with and for youth. Discussion session took place at the Dhaka University new Senate hall. Young and professional personnel from different organizations share their view and experiences with the audiences.
This event chaired by Vice chancellor of Dhaka University Dr. A A M S Arefin Sidddique, Secretary Ministry of Youth and sports Mr. Md. Mahbub Ahmed was chief guest and as special guest UNDP resident representative Mr. Stefan Priesner and Mr A K M Manzurul Hauque, ndc Director General, Department of Youth Development was there. Director of Disaster and vulnerability study welcome and thanked everyone during this event.
Good number of young volunteers from different countries and across Bangladesh came into this event for celebration. During discussion some issues were discussed and emerged. These points are concerns’ of young population of Bangladesh and world as a whole. The points are Access to information and education, sexual and reproductive health services, Employment generation came out during these sessions.
YPSA program Manager Mr. Vashkar presents on Youth and accessibility, youth Focal person Mr. Subir Das was also attended this joyful and vibrant youth event.
During discussion guests put emphasis on utilization of large human capital of Bangladesh. They states that equipping the young population of Bangladesh with proper education and skills can drastically change the economic and social condition of our country; this large population will become our human dividend over the next 30 years from now on if we can direct them properly.
At the end everyone agreed that without partnering with the young people we cannot achieve the national goal by 2021. This world needs young minds and their active participation at all level. That is why we have to aware the young people about their rights and responsibility. Partnership with the young communities has to ensure; towards a better world.
