“Rajbari district is one of the worst climate affected area of Bangladesh located on the bank of Padma River. The water level of the river Padma continued to rise due to onrush of flood water from the upstream. Unplanned urbanization and building of dams made Rajbari floodplain area. Devastated flood took away lands, houses, crops and lives every year from this part.” Speakers say in a meeting jointly organized by YPSA and PROVA with the support of Displacement Solutions at the Shilpakala Academy Conference room, Rajbari on 2nd Decmber’12.
Professor (Rtd) Md. Motiur Rahman, Rajbari gov’t college presided over the meeting while Md. Amdadul Hoque, Chairman of Sada Upzilla, Rajbari was present as the chief guest and Md. Atiur Rahman, UP Chairman of Mizanpur, Advocate Ashik Kumar Ghose, Rajbari Bar, Majna Mandul, Counselor of Rajbari Pouroshova were present as special guest in the meeting.
