5th Annual Convention of Self Help Organization of Persons with Disabilities was held at YPSA HRDC Sitakund Campus on 13 December 2011 as the celebration of “The United Nations Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities (UNCRPD)”. Thousands of representatives from 40 Self Help Organizations of Persons with Disabilities and different Social Organizations participated in the convention. Federation of Disable’s People Organization in Sitakund is the core organizer of this convention with support from YPSA and ActionAid Bangladesh. Mr. A B M Abul Kashem, MP, Chairman of the Parliamentary Committee for the Ministry of Commerce, was present as the chief guest while Country Director of Actionaid Bangladesh, Ms. Farah Kabir inaugurated the convention and UN Committee Member for CRPD and AAB Board Member Mr. Mansur Ahmed Choudhuri was the key speaker at this historic convention .
