World White Cane Safety Day 2018 observed at Sitakund

YPSA and Federation of DPOs Sitakund organized rally and discussion meeting on “World White Cane Safety Day 18” at YPSA Human Resources Development Centre Sitakund on 15 October 2018 with the support of PKSF. In this day YPSA organized Rally, Discussion Meeting and white cane distribution to visually impaired people.

Ms. Lutfunnesa begum, Social welfare officer of Sitakund was present as chief guest while Nur Nobi, President of Sitakund Federation of DPOs has presided over the meeting. Mr. Newaz Mahmud Program Manager of YPSA has moderate the program.

Mr. Abdul Gafur Project Manager of handicap International, Tarik Mahmud Disability Officer of handicap International was present as special guest. Mr. Kamrul Islam Branch Manager of MurdpurBarch and Mr. Sanjoy Chowdhury Producer of Radio Sagor Giri Lokamn Goni, Vice President, Anowaer Hussein, Shafiq Chowdhury, Alamgir and Md. Enam Hossen member of Sitakund Federation of DPOs gave their speech in the meeting. YPSA staffs, Community people, Federation and DPOs members participated in the rally and discussion meeting.

The speakers said.  White canes are recognized for providing the visually impaired with greater mobility, allowing them to participate more within their communities. The white cane can be alleged by many as a symbol of blindness or visual impairment.
