YPSA led Proyash II Project Closing Workshop: Learnings and Sharing

YPSA and Save the Children held a sharing and learning workshop on Proyash II project intervention on 20th June, 2023. Chief Executive Officer of Chattogram City Corporation, Sheikh Muhammad Touhidul Islam, was present as Chief Guest in the workshop. Mubarak Ali, Ward Councilor of Ward 7 and President of Standing Committee of Waste Management was also present as a special guest.

He said, “YPSA led Proyash II project is truly commendable and we will continue the legacy. Specially urban community volunteers formation, Mayor Award, Model waste management system set up are examples of best practices which ensures sustainably itself by creating active and trained community members.”

At the beginning of the workshop, Project Coordinator Sanjida Aktar presented on major intervention and achievement of Prayash II project. Then the stakeholders and beneficiaries of the project were divided into 5 groups. They identified and presented achievement, lesson learnt and way forward on Community Based Activities, Nabinagar Model Waste Management, Urban Risk Reduction and Preparedness, Stakeholder and Networking, and school safety.

Speech by Nasim Banu

Among others Nasim Banu, Director (Social Development) of YPSA, Simon Rahman, Manager (Urban Resilience) of Save the Children, Muhammad Abdur Razzak, Fire Service and Civil Defense, Abdullah Al Omar, CCC City Planner attended the meeting. Also principals/head teachers of various schools under the project, ward disaster management committee members, urban community volunteers, women, children, child journalists, student cabinet/council members, representatives of Chattogram Urban Network and Bangladesh Alliance of Youth were present.
