YPSA, in collaboration with the Chattogram Legal Aid Committee, kicked off the National Legal Aid Day -24 on 28 April, 2024 with a lively rally at eight-thirty in the morning. The event was inaugurated by Dr. Aziz Ahmed Bhuiyan, the honorable Senior District & Sessions Judge, Chattogram. Notable figures including Metropolitan Police Commissioner (Additional IGP) Krishna Pada Roy, BPM (Bar), PPM (Bar). Honorable Judge Murad A Mowla Sohel, and other respected officials graced the occasion.
Following the rally, a series of events unfolded throughout the day, including a legal aid fair, blood donation campaign, free medical camp, and legal aid drama performance. The day culminated in a cultural program held at the District Bar Association’s auditorium.
YPSA’s involvement in the implementation of the Activating village court in Bangladesh 3rd phase- implemented by Local Govt. Ministry, aimed at bringing justice to rural communities in Bangladesh, was highlighted during the celebrations. Through stalls, YPSA showcased its ongoing efforts in aiding rural populations in accessing justice.
