UNDP Bangladesh and YPSA, with the support of the Coca-Cola Foundation, is implementing the Plastics Circularity Project in Chattogram, Cox’s Bazar, and Tangail. The project aims to strengthen waste management systems, enhance circularity through recycling and reduce plastic leakage into the environment.
Today on 23 May, in Tangail as part of this initiative, The project distributed four plastic recycling machineries including pellet makers, crushers and washers to selected community-based micro, small, and medium enterprises (CMSMEs) engaged in plastic recycling.
The intervention will enhance local recycling capacity, promote value addition within the plastic value chain, and contribute toward the project’s target of recycling 15,000 tons of plastics by the end of the project.
This Tangail deployment follows a successful initial distribution in Cox’s Bazar on 18 May 2026. The next phase of machinery distribution is scheduled for Chattogram after Eid-ul-Adha.
