YPSA, Sitakund Protibondi Unnayan Shangstha & Federation of DPO Barayadhala Jointly observed the International White Cane and Safety Day on 15 Oct, 2020 with the support of Sitakund Upazilla Administration, ADD International and PKSF at the Upazilla conference room, Sitakund.
Upazilla Nirbahi Officer of Sitakund Mr. Milton Roy was present as chief gust at this program. Mr Rasidul Islam AC Land of Sitakund, Ms Lutfun Nesa Begum, Sitakund Social Service Officer, Md. Nasir Uddin, Joint Secretary of Sitakund Press Club and Farha Amena Khatun Technical officer of YPSA were present as special guest in the program. The president of Sitakund DPO Md. Nur Nabi presided over the event and Eman Hooseen member of Sitakund Protibondi Unnayan Shangstha has presented the program.
The guests said. White Canes are recognized for providing the visually impaired with greater mobility, allowing them to participate more within their communities. The white cane can be alleged by many as a symbol of blindness or visual impairment.
In the occasion of this day, YPSA provide 19 numerous kinds of assistive devices to Person with disabilities.
Moreover, Wahedpur DPO Mirsarai celebrated this day with rally and discussion meeting in their office compound with the Support of ADD International.
