As a part of the World Environment Day 2024 campaign, Young Power in Social Action (YPSA) in collaboration with Unilever Bangladesh Limited (UBL) and Sunsilk, launched the AwareWave initiative, under the Uniliver employee volunteering platform, Proyash.
The campaign swept through the hallways of 10 schools across Chattogram and Dhaka, reaching an estimated 1,000 students.
The initiative aimed to educate and empower the next generation in the fight against plastic pollution and create a wave of change through awareness.
On June 4th, 2024, the initiative culminated in a special event at Sher-E-Bangla Nagar Government Girls High School. Leading the charge were the YPSA Dhaka Office Team and Unilever Bangladesh employees, including Zaved Akhtar, Chairman and Managing Director of UBL, and Zinnia Huq, Finance Director of UBL. Their presence at the event highlighted the importance of environmental awareness and inspired the students to take action.
Through the AwareWave initiative, YPSA, UBL, and Sunsilk hope to create a lasting impact. By empowering students with the knowledge to combat plastic pollution, they are nurturing a generation of environmentally conscious leaders who will build a sustainable future.
